Golf View Hotel

The building is being renovated, but the "new" rooms already look run down and old. The shower stalls were grimey, some broken furniture in the rooms, and the beds were uncomfortable. They served one option each morning at breakfast and if you couldn't eat it (allergy, restricted diet), you had to pay for the other options (the server didnt seem to know what the kitchen could make other than the saltfish and okra served, we ended up paying US $20 for some scrambled eggs and bacon so I could eat a protein I wasnt allegic to). The service was good, some folks were nicer than others and the poor servers spoiled it for the others. The ice machine was rusty, new/old furniture could be seen jam packed into a room, and only the front desk/lounge appeared to have sustained any form of renovation. This hotel was a real disappointment, and if this the "best" hotel in Mandeville, I will drive back to Kingston/Ocho Rios/Montego Bay in the dead of night to avoid staying here ever again.

Overpriced, overatted hotel. Room had no curtains and one had to sleep with bright security light in the room. Bed was lumpy and tough. TV did not work. Breakfast very minimal and was very local. Lack hotel safety, the place is under construction. Buyer beware in this property, you will not rest well. Over priced

When i arrived to the hotel on 7/28 guests were ahead of me and my family and we were told you are welcome to go to the lounge for drinks. my husband and son went to lounge and they were dressed in nice tshirt and matching shorts and was told they were not allowed to come in because they look like they just left the GYM. how rude to tell a guest that! then when i checked in i aske to extend my stay for extra night i was told the double room that i booked i would have to cancel and rebook a excutive room for EXTRA NIGHT what sense does that make when its available on line to book. i also requested for the renovated excutive room for myself i got the room that had peeled cielings in the room and bathroom. then we wentto breakfast and the server passed us several times and noticed us 10 min later and asked how is everthing i said well we have food no silverware ,water! then the day of check out they had a guest that walking through hotel with a short skirt and no panties and a big backside and front desk said shes a paying guest really. we look like we just came from the gym but she can walk around nasty and not the proper attire. i have been a guest here in the past i will not be back!!!! our attire is not appropriate at the lounge but the room is apropriate for guests. veiw the photos.

Please do no stay here. It’s a motel and a dump. They were easter bugs everywhere like over 100, out side your door, in your bathroom, in the sink and bath tub. They had us in 1/2 finish renovated rooms with holes in the wall. Wires were everywhere, furniture was torn with cigarettes burns The toilet stop flushing and my daugther had to fill up buckets of water to flush the toilet. It was a disaster. We only stayed here for a funeral in mandeville. The staff was friendly and the manager give us a free dinner, but it was not worth the trouble and the horrible experience. Tje pool was dirty. The entire place should be torn down and rebuild. Bath was flooding daily and mirror you could not see your face in since it was too high. Bulbs were missing. It was just horrific.

The elevator didn't. work. We drove 15 hours and they wouldn't accommodate us. The person available to speak to at midnight when we arrived, would only text with us and refused to call us. They said they didn't own the property so they couldn't do anything. When we asked for a refund they went offline and wouldn't talk to us anymore. DO NOT waste your time with this place. Piss poor management.

The hotel staff were friendly,the hotel is clean and the complimentary breakfast every morning was very delicious . The housekeeping staff were very courteous and kept our room and surrounding areas quiet clean. The fish dinner from the" latitude lounge" was awesome and the hotel grounds has beautiful flowers and plants

This was a short trip for a family celebration. Checkin was a bit of a wait as the agent was multitasking between the phone and us. Kayon escorted us to our rooms. He was a very polite young man suited for the hospitality industry. The rooms were spacious, rear view overlooked the golf course. A balcony would have been nice to take in the fresh morning air overlooking the golf course. Bathroom was spacious but I must say linen needs to be upgraded. Towels were faded grey and burgundy which detracts from the overall decor of the room. The beds were tiny and I imagine was for kids only. On checkin there was obviously karaoke going on loudly which went on until 3am - a cutoff time should be considered as we were trying to sleep after severely jet lagged. The property grounds are in need of repair to match the rooms. It is visibly run down and unkept. Stairways were dusty and cracked. Breakfast was ground food and Franks and beans. I would have expected real Jamaican food some ackee and saltfish or salt mackerel would have been ideal. There were 4 adults in our party on arriving the server sarcastically said only 3 persons are allowed. Needless to say only 2 of us ate the others went in town to get real Jamaican food. We didn’t spend much time in the room based on our tight schedule early mornings and late nights. Area was close to town and shopping. Highly recommend Gizmos restaurant for dinner. There is limited irons and you have to call to get an iron so we ironed all our clothing one time. Overall all staff were very polite and greeted us each time we passed. We had a small issue with our room but it was quickly resolved to our satisfaction. Kudos to the front desk team.

Worst experience ever. I arrived at 9pm after a 10 hour flight and two hour drive from Kingston. There was no water in my room the front desk did not inform me of the problem. I discovered the issue and went to the front desk they provided me with a bucket full of water to flush the toilet. What an experience in 2022. In the morning I spoke to the front desk requesting some compensation for my inconvenience and was told Golf View offers nothing I asked to speak to the manager initially I was told no, I insisted when the manager came I explained my dissatisfaction the hotel manager told me he would not offer me any financial compensation and that a bucket full of water was an acceptable solution. Avoid this hotel it is dated do not waste your money

Golfview Hotel is the worst hotel in Mandeville ever! If I could give 0 stars, i would! We checked into this hotel and they gave us the worst room! There was no AC, the linens were old, the bathroom was deplorable, the tv wasn't working, the WiFi wasn't working, the sink was dirty, the rooms looked like high school dorms, the shower was spraying all over the place, mosquitoes were eating us alive! We even saw a cockroach running around! It was the worst experience ever! When we spoke with the receptionist at the front about the condition of the place and us wanting to check out, they indicated that we already checked in and they would charge us for 2 nights if we checked out. We were staying for 3 nights and for them to charge us for 2 nights even if we didn't stay, that was unacceptable. They indicated that they were doing some renovations and hence the reason for some of the appliances malfunctioning but they could have informed us about the renovations from way before so that we would have known what to expect! We complained to everyone and even spoke with the Manager and he indicated that he would try to upgrade our rooms. But still no change! I am so disappointed in this place! Never again! If you're staying in Mandeville, DO NOT STAY AT GOLFVIEW, its best that you stay at an Airbnb because none of the hotels are up to par! See some pics below!
